Apogee MetaRecorder is a versatile two-channel audio recording application designed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, offering a range of features to accommodate diverse and powerful workflows. By utilizing multiple iOS devices along with Apogee and Sennheiser equipment, users can capture high-quality audio in various scenarios such as interviews, conferences, film production, mobile broadcasting, weddings, recitals, and more.
Delivering top-notch audio quality characteristic of Apogee products, recordings can be done at resolutions up to 24-bit, 96kHz in WAV. or CAF format. Users can connect Apogee audio interfaces or Sennheiser ClipMic digital or MKE 2 digital lavalier microphones to achieve a professional-grade input signal. Hardware input gain and DSP adjustments (Sennheiser exclusive) can be conveniently controlled from within the MetaRecorder app.
MetaRecorder also offers compatibility with the Timecode Systems UltraSync BLUE module as an optional in-app purchase. Enabling this feature allows MetaRecorder to receive timecode via Bluetooth and embed it into the audio file metadata, greatly simplifying the synchronization process between audio and video files in software like Final Cut Pro or other Non-Linear Editing (NLE) systems.
Another standout feature is the Master-Satellite Link capability that enables linking a Master iPhone to up to 3 Satellite iPhones (including iPad/iPod Touch). This unique feature streamlines collaborative actions across multiple devices, facilitating tasks like creating Scenes, managing recording functions, adjusting input levels, choosing Takes, adding Markers, Keywords, and Favorites. Furthermore, users can monitor audio on Satellite devices from the Master device.
Beyond its recording capabilities, MetaRecorder enhances the Final Cut Pro workflow by allowing users to apply metadata tags such as Keywords, Favorites, and Markers while recording in the field. By sharing recorded audio and Final Cut Pro XML files directly from the app, MetaRecorder significantly expedites the media organization process within Final Cut Pro on a Mac.
The free version of MetaRecorder permits up to 60 seconds of recording on up to 4 linked iPhones. Upgrading to the Full Version via an in-app purchase unlocks unlimited recording on a single device, while opting for the Full Version with Multi-Device Support enables limitless recording on up to 4 devices.
For a limited time promotion, connecting an Apogee or Sennheiser iOS audio interface grants access to the Full Version (single device) in-app purchase at no cost; users may later acquire the Multi-Device Support in-app purchase at a discounted rate.
